Class Description:
This class will focus on teaching the Utility exercises used in AKC Utility competition. The class is devoted to individual instruction so each student can progress at their own speed of learning. Each week you will get to work on 2-3 exercises which are the choice of the student. Distractions will be added as students progress. when not your turn students will help each other by acting as ring stewards and or judge for scent discrimination, directed retrieve and moving stand exercises.
Prerequisites: Your dog must have a reliable Retrieve and be able to work off lead with other dogs also off lead.
Equipment: You must have a set of scent articles and 3 white gloves. See AKC Obedience Rules for requirements for articles and gloves.
Dog Crate is required for this class
Utility Obedience

Class Description:
This course will teach the Utility exercises for AKC obedience: signals, scent articles, directed retrieve, moving stand and directed jumping. Equipment needed for this class: a set of scent articles (6 articles each of 2 of the following materials, leather, metal or wood) and 3 white gloves appropriately sized for your dog. Additional training aids may be required per the instructor.
Prerequisites: Your dog must be capable of working off lead under full voice control with distractions. Your dog must have completed the Open Obedience class or have permission of the instructor with ability to demonstrate competition level performance of all Open exercises.
Crates are required for this class

Open/ Utility Obedience Proofing

Class Description:
This class is for dog and handler teams that have a full understanding of the Open and Utility exercises. Instruction will be offered on ways to improve and polish your performances. Challenges will be used to assure you and your dog have a full understanding of each exercise and can work under stress and induced pressure.
Prerequisites: The class requires that you can demonstrate to the instructor that you can perform All Open & Utility exercises and the dog has a solid understanding of those exercises. Dogs MUST be capable of working off leash around other working dogs whilst being under Full voice command.
Dog Crates are required at every class.
