MADTA is in the News after Donated Oxygen Masks

Save Dogs’ Lives

Local news station, WCJB in Gainesville, recently broadcast a heartwarming story about MADTA’s recent donation of dog oxygen masks to Alachua County Fire Rescue

The news report stated that three unconscious dogs were found inside a house that was on fire. The dogs were victims of smoke inhalation. The firefighters from the Alachua County Fire Rescue were able to utilize the new dog oxygen masks that were donated by MADTA. They were able to resuscitate all three dogs by quickly administering oxygen and monitoring the dogs until they were breathing on their own and starting to move around.

The donation of the oxygen masks from MADTA was coordinated by MADTA’s Donations Committee. The Donations Committee receives requests from organizations and reviews the information to establish that the specified criteria has been met. The Donations Committee then forwards the request to the MADTA Board of Directors for final approval. There is a Donation Request form on MADTA’s website for organizations to submit their request. A link to the Donation Request form can be found at (https://madta.org/page-18299 ).
