Class Description

This class will work on improving the foundational skills needed by Scent Work teams early in their Scent Work journey. (Dogs must be confidently working on odor to take this class.) 

Some topics that may be covered include: effective handling skills, reading your dog, building confidence and motivation, odor behavior, and hide setting. We will also discuss trial participation and practice search elements used in Scent Work competitions: containers, interiors, exteriors, buried, and vehicles (weather permitting.) Practice element searches will be adapted to the needs of the class participants.

Dog Crates are required for this class.
