MADTA depends on membership volunteers to keep things running smoothly.
Benefits of membership are:
- Early access and reduced cost to all training classes offered at the club.
- Early access to Club sponsored Sho N Gos.
- Early access to Club sponsored Seminars.
- Ability to rent a ring in the building for training.
- Availability to share your knowledge with others by teaching or assisting a training class.
There is a social side to being a member as well. We host social events throughout the year. You get to know your fellow members and develop friendships with others that share your love of dogs. Meet like minded people to train with.
How to become a member of the club.
Eligibility: While membership is to be unrestricted as to residence, MADTA’s primary mission is to represent the breeders and exhibitors in its immediate geographic area. Membership is open to all persons who are in good standing with the AKC and to persons in the community with an interest in dog training who subscribe to the mission, philosophy, and policies and procedures of MADTA.
Membership categories:
- Full Member Single: A single individual eighteen years of age and older Entitled to all club privileges.
- Full Member Household: Two adult members residing in the same house. Entitled to all club privileges.
- Associate Member Single: A single individual eighteen years of age and older. Entitled to limited club privileges. This category is for members who live in the club’s area but are not active within the club or a new member on the path towards Full Member.
- Associate Member Household: Two individuals eighteen years of age and older residing in the same house. Entitled to limited club privileges. This category is for members who live in the club’s area but are not active within the club or new members on the path towards Full Member.
- Junior Member: Open to children under the age of eighteen. This membership will automatically be converted to an Associate member at the age of eighteen.
- Lifetime Members: Full members that meet the requirements of Lifetime Member
Membership Application Process: Each applicant for membership shall apply on a form approved by the Board and which shall provide that the applicant agrees to abide by the Constitution, By-Laws and policies and procedures of MADTA. The applicant will pay an application fee which upon approval as a member will be applied to the first-year dues.
- A person interested in becoming a member must attend two (2) general meetings as a guest and complete 10 hours of volunteering verified by the volunteer coordinator. This must be completed within 6 months of submitting the application. Exceptions may be granted by the Board.
- Upon completion of the membership requirements, the Volunteer chair will notify the Membership Chair that the application is complete.
- The Membership Chair will present the application at the next general membership meeting when a quorum is present. An affirmative secret vote of two thirds (66%) of the members present and voting at the meeting shall be required to elect the applicant. New members will enter as Associate Members.
- The path to a Full Member will require the individual to complete an additional 10 hours of verified volunteering which will be reviewed after 6 months’ time.
