MADTA Membership 

Article I of the MADTA By-Laws 


Section 7 Election to Membership: Each applicant for membership shall apply on a form approved by the Board and which shall provide

                 that the applicant agrees to abide by the Constitution, By- Laws and policies and procedures of MADTA. The applicant will pay an

                 application fee which upon approval as a member will be applied to the first-year dues.

a. A person interested in becoming a member must attend two (2) general meetings as a guest and complete 10

    hours of volunteering verified by the volunteer coordinator. This must be completed within 6 months of                  submitting the application. Exceptions may be granted by the Board.
b. Upon completion of the membership requirements, the Volunteer chair will notify the Membership Chair that         the application is complete.
c. The Membership Chair will present the application at the next general membership meeting when a quorum is      present. An affirmative vote, conducted by secret ballot of two -thirds (2/3) of the members in good standing          present at the meeting shall be required to elect the applicant. New members will enter as Associate Members.
d. The path to a Full Member will require the individual to complete an additional 10 hours of verified                           volunteering which will be reviewed after 6 months’ time.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS-  Policy 20

Membership Year runs January 1 through December 31.

Volunteer hour accrual period runs from November 1 of the previous membership year through October 31 of the current membership year. Hours accrued during this period determine membership category and privileges for the following Membership Year.

Full Members Single for a membership year are those who complete 10 hours of volunteer activities during the Volunteer hour accrual period.

Full Members Household for a membership year are those who complete a total of 20 hours of combined volunteer activities during the Volunteer hour accrual period.

Associate Member Single for a membership year are those members who did not complete 10 hours of volunteer hours.

Associate Member Household for a membership year are households that did not complete 20 hours of volunteer activities.

Lifetime and Full Members Single and Household will be granted the following benefits: 

  1. Early Registration access of 7 days prior to Open Registration for classes, seminars and Sho N Gos. 
  2. Seven-week classes will cost $80. Classes of shorter duration will be prorated accordingly.

Associate Members Single and Household will be granted the following benefits:

  1. Early registration access of 3 days prior to open registration for classes seminars and Sho N Gos
  2. Seven-week classes will cost $100. Classes of shorter duration will be prorated accordingly

Junior Members will be granted the following benefits:

  1. Early Registration access of 7 days prior to Open Registration for classes, seminars and Sho N Gos.
  2. Seven-week classes will cost $40. Classes of shorter duration will be prorated accordingly.
