We offer several Beginning Obedience and Puppy Classes to help get your dog off to a great start whether your goal is a well behaved companion or a future in competition.
Beginning Obedience & Puppy Classes -
- AKC Star Puppy Class
Class Description:
This class is for Puppies up to 10 Months by May 2. This class follows the AKC guidelines for the Star Puppy Program. This program focuses on the bond development between puppy and owner.
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is an incentive program for loving dog owners who have taken the time to take their puppies through a basic training class
- Puppy Obedience
Class Description:
This class is for puppies up to 6 months of age by Jan 1.
This class is designed to teach basic puppy manners. They will work on walking on a loose leash, sit, down, place and the beginning of stay and come.
We will go over basic problems they may encounter and ways to correct or help the puppy.
Please bring a leash suitable for the dog as well as the collar you would like to use on your puppy.
- Beginner Obedience
Class Description:
In this class you will learn basic Obedience. You and your dog will learn how to walk on a loose leash, as well as basic commands such as sit, down and come. This class teaches beginning requirements toward your dog becoming a Canine Good Citizen.
- Advanced Beginners Obedience
Class Description:
This is a step towards the competition ring for Obedience and Rally and prepares students for CGC/CGCA
Requirements: Dog and handler have completed a Beginner Obedience class or handler has trained a dog before. Dog should be able to do a sit and down on command and does a controlled walk on leash.
You will be working on tightening up your obedience handling skills, learn the figure 8, stand/sit for exam and work on attention along with advanced stays. Exercises from Beginner Novice Obedience, Novice Obedience, Rally and the CGC and CGCA tests will be worked on.
Emphasis will be placed on attention and learning how to work as a team to give handlers and dogs a good foundation.
