2026 Session 2

  • Seven Week Class  $120 non member /$100 Associate Member/ $80 Full Member
  • Mondays 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Classes start on March 2, 2026
  • Registration for Full members opens Feb 9, 2026
  • Registration for Associate members opens Feb 13, 2026
  • Registration for Non-Members opens Feb 16, 2026
  • Registration closes February 20, 2026  after which NO registrations will be accepted

Class Description

For the competitor just starting to train for Utility Obedience.  This class will cover how to teach your dog the exercises for AKC Utility Obedience Competition.  The class will cover the basics of Utility ring procedure. Handlers will learn how to start your dog for scent articles, directed retrieve, hand signals without voice commands, directed jumping including a go out across a 40 ft ring and the moving stand.   Dogs must have good off leash control and know how to heel both on and off leash with distractions.    

Prerequisite:  You must have earned a minimum of 1 leg towards your AKC Companion Dog Excellent Title (CDX)

Required Equipment for the class

       1 set of articles consisting of 2 of the following sets, 6 leather articles, 6 metal articles or 6 wood articles.

        3 white gloves  

A Dog Crate is required at all classes

Dogs must be crated when not in the ring
