Class Description:

This is a fun class geared toward the dog and handler team that is getting ready to compete or who has already begun to compete and would like to improve their ring performance.  In this class, we will work on confidence building for competing in the obedience ring and teams will have fun fine tuning their skills for the competition ring while proofing and polishing their performances.  Training games will be utilized to enhance the dog-handler relationship and the team's performance as well as to help build the dog's confidence and attitude.  Strategies for managing handler's ring nerves to help improve ring performance will be covered as well and skills such as handling, footwork, ring entrances and exits, transitions between exercises will be built upon and reinforced.  This class will use a team approach to instruction for increased student engagement and to provide students with more individual attention as needed when preparing to compete.  This is a fun class so come prepared for plenty of floor time!

Prerequisite:  This class is for dogs who can reliably perform all of the Novice exercises.  Dogs MUST be able to reliably work off leash around other dogs and distractions.

Materials:  Students should bring to class:  a variety of treats including high value treats, toys (preferably tug toys), crate.

Dog Crates are required at every class.
